Live from London pt.2

Parsi has spent the last two days doing all kind of tourist stuff. Visiting galleries and museums (Tate Modern, yesterday, Victoria and Albert and the Natural History Museum, today), fooling around in the temples of maximalism (yes, i mean the Harrod's), drinking many pints in the pubs, eating great food (not english food you fools, i meant chinese, thai, portuguese), spending money buying all kind of stupid stuff etc. And as a typical tourist, i couldn't resist going to the Phantom of the Opera. Sing for me my angeeeel of muuuuusic! A great night indeed, i enjoyed enormously and i was deeply moved by listening live to all this wonderful music i grew up with. The cast was also good (on the 19th of December), as we had a fabulous Phantom (excellent, superb!), a really good Raul but the girl singing Christine was quite disappointing...Her voice, well, i don't know how to say this, was JUST LIKE Janice's!!! What do you mean Janice who? Janice Litman!!!

Now think of Janice instead of repeating constantly "OH MY GOD! CHANDLER BING!", singing "Wishing you were somehow here again". Well, after that, the only thing left was to walk to the Soho and have a couple of beers while watching a drag show... (No, it wasn't VERA GALUPE-BORSZKH unfortunately) to get over the Janice-like high E's!

Tomorrow is a big day! More museums (the British this time), more 4 hour walks but also we 're gonna witness the story of a poor girl widely known as Cinderella! And our Cinderella will be none other than Magdalena Kozena!! Hoorah!

(**There's gonna be another greek presence at the ROH, this time ON stage as Elena Xanthoudakis is singing Angelina's step sister Clorinda and has received very good reviews: "Xanthoudakis singing with the ringing quality and controlled legato which Kozená lacked" claimed one of them or "the vocal highlights come from the step-sisters, here Elena Xanthoudakis and Leah-Marian Jones"). Don't be harsh on Magdalena!! We all know that she was miscast and that the hottest Cenerentola on the Globe can be found HERE (e il suo nome Joyce DiDonato) with the Wonder-Ramiro of Juan Diego Florez**)

Stay tuned, more Live from London to come!
