When I saw this on the Rome Opera website I was struck by how similar it was to the encore January 20th even down to the running off stage for I believe he says "water" - just wondering what happened at the January 17th performance? Any reports?
Yeah, I was there and on Jan 17th he didn't give any encore, after the show he told me he wasn't feeling good at all, cause of low pression... Anyway that was kinda "weird", I mean the thing he goes off stage to drink water...but he said in an interview in Barcaccia, that he does that because he wants to, you know, like if he wants to get out of the character, and sing the encore just for the public...(to me it's weird anyway! ;)) He did it, the "drink water" thing also the night of the prima and on sunday, for the last recita... To me he was so great in this Tosca, and I heard more than one person comparing him to Domingo! Now, I ADORE Marcelo, but...let's take it easy! ;)
