Le Comte Ory, an encounter with a great artist!

Last night Parsi attended a performance of ¨Le Comte Ory¨ at the Greek National Opera and had the time of his life!
An excellent production -stage direction by Mariame Clement- and a wonderful cast!

Centre of the performance was -as expected- the exquisite Comte Ory of Colin Lee, a Comte that belongs in the big league of Rocky Blake and J.D. Flórez. A beautiful voice, a miraculous coloratura and breathtaking high notes!

Dimitri Kasioumis, Akis Lalousis and Colin Lee

The Comtesse sung by greek soprano Maria Mitsopoulou was full of musicality, passion and elegance. Even if she cannot be said to be a rossinian soprano, she gave us a wonderful interpretation.

Mezzo-soprano Marita Paparizou, was a delightful Isolier, proving once again her expertise in Rossini (rumour has it that she is actually the cover for Agnes Baltsa in the upcoming Athens Italiana).
