Half of this post's title is totally justified by the photo above.
The new production of the Pearl Fishers of the Lyric Opera of Chicago has gathered on stage a bunch of the prettiest people in opera today.
Nathan Gunn, Nicole Cabell, Eric Cutler and Christian Van Horn among them.
Cabell and Cutler
But while others can display their charismas on stage....
Christian Van Horn as Nourabad couldn't...
Well, I suppose a topless high-priest of Brahma wouldn't be easily justified...
But here 's Christian Van Horn under all this beard...
OK, enough with the beauty talk. I wanna hear some voices.
Au fond du temple saint (Gunn+Cutler)
Je crois entendre encore (Cutler)
Les barques ont gagné - Comme autrefois (Van Horn+Cabell)
L'orage, s'est calmé (Gunn)
Finale (All Fantastic 4)
Some reviews can be found online but don't forget to read the review of

You're killing me. I still wanna get married though.
Gracias por los audios.
Me ha gustado Cutler, aunque ese final del Je crois... ay.
γιαμ γιαμ...
Υ.Γ: Να θυμηθώ να ακούσω και τα κλιπάκια...
Hey Parsi, I hope it's ok, I borrowed your top photo and posted it to the NG fangroup page, crediting you of course. Oh yeah plus it has your name written across it, lol. Who are you, Opera Chic? ;)
Pitty the director was so conservative as to handsome van Horn: After all, saddhus, brahmanic wandering gurus are known to go around completely naked, covered in ashes...
Beautiful, beautiful music!! For me Nicole Cabelle by far outshines the rest! Such warmth and such brilliance in her voice! I think the others would have been considerably better had their French been tidier, it just doesn't flow completely right and we loose some of the beauty of the music. Pitty because the voices are good:-) And the abs don't quite compensate me for that.
DIOS MÍO!!! Quién es el que se parece a Russell Crowe???
Papagena, Do you mean Nathan Gunn? Someone made the same comment on my blog!
Hablas de Nathan Gunn? Alguien ha escrito la misma frase de Russel Crowe en mi blog. :)
