No, pagliacci non sono

Gianluigi&Myrtó&Franco= BFFE

And while in Greece, some keep ignoring all those young greek singers building a career abroad...

...Myrtó Papatanasiu has just finished a very successful run of I Pagliacci at the Teatro dell' Opera di Roma, next to Stuart Neil, in a production by Franco Zeffirelli (more or less the one we saw in Athens a few years ago) under maestro Gianluigi Gelmetti

Listen to Myrtó Papatanasiu & Domenico Balzani in the Nedda/Silvio duet

Autumn will find Myrtó in Cardiff, where she will be singing Violetta next to Alfie Boe's Alfredo in a production of Traviata by David McVicar

(According to my sources Myrtó Papatanasiu will do her comeback in Athens in 2010 to sing one of her trademark roles)

Had to miss the production - was up in Salzburg - that's twice now I've missed the chance to see her perform. :-(

Dammit...***jealousy*** I wish I were there too (Salzburg I mean). Myrto was fine and so was Stuart Neil.

BTW< You HAVE to listen to Stuart Neil recordings for back in the 90's (95ish) when he was singing Puritani and Pirata in Venezia etc etc. You won't believe your ears! What a VOICE!

Rumour has it that he was such a nice guy (not) that theatres stopped hiring him in order to avoid trouble.
