The Greek theatre-goers had the rare luck to witness a really great moment of a really great actress:
Dame Helen Mirren as Phèdre at the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus, in a production of the National Theatre, directed by Nicholas Hytner, that opened in London (at the Lyttelton Theatre) just a few weeks ago, starring -apart from Helen Mirren as Phedre- Dominic Cooper as Hippolytus, Stanley Townsend as Theseus and my personal favourites Margaret Tyzack as Oenone and John Shrapnel as Théramène.

Listen to the audience roaring at Mirren's curtain-call
And here's a photo-album from the performance and the curtain calls

***Many were the celebrities that attended the premiere at the Epidaurus, but Tom Hanks was the only one who received a tremendous applause at his entrance and posed for his greek fans and for you, sexy readers... ***
