Wunderbar!

-

You 've got a week off from work, and money to spend. Cioé, you 're just a little step away from happiness.

If you're a normal person you think: Cuba, Jamaica, Maldives, Malaysia, St. Barths, Key West, etc. etc.

If you're an opera psycho you think: Vienna, Milan, London, Munich, Barcelona, etc. etc.

And instead of checking the weather forecast and the beaches, you check the schedule of the Opera Houses and the casts.

The decision wasn't very hard to make. 4 days in Munich, just for opera-going, visit friends, eat würst like there is no tomorrow, and consume big quantities of beer.

Kewl!

That would be my first time there, so I had to take the full tourist sightseeing thing...

Favourite site: The last floor of Ludwig Beck (I can't help it)...

A typical department store, that hosts one of the most amazing music stores I 've ever seen

...our well trained staff who even amongst the 120,000 available titles (the biggest range in continental Europe) always have the CD you’re looking for at close hand...

And that's only a very small part of it...

The first thing you see...

And then this...

What do bavarians prefer? Here's the Top 20
(4 out of 20 occupied by La Netrebka? Not a good sign!
And Annette Dasch? Gee! Not a good sign at all)

The first evening was opera free, but of course I fooled around at the area of the Bayerische Staatsoper.

Marcelo Álvarez is omnipresent in Munich.

So is David Daniels

The new production of Wozzeck is the talk of the town

If Wozzeck is too much for you, you can always go to some cinema (kino!) if you wanna see Rolando's nipple (click the photo above to enlarge).

And after such a shock, a cup of gluehwein (german hot wine) at the Christmas Market is all you need.

The film is quite good, deeply moving, I could hardly contain my tears
during the last 20 mins.

Tomorrow, Part 1: Tamerlano

Tchuss!

We'll be there next weekend so leave some gluehwein for us! Glad to see you're making the best of your leisure time. Hope you're behaving yourself.

And of course we want full reports.

And full reports you'll have! OH! And, guys! DONT buy tickets at the parkett!!! Prefer balconies or the rang I and II. The sound is terrible at the parkett!!!

Ya me estaba extrañando tanta ausencia... Bien justificada, por cierto. Ya nos seguirás contando, pero que sepas que se te echaba de menos.
