A Lucrezia aged 62

A new production of Lucrezia Borgia
opened last night in Munich
starring the eternal Edita Gruberova,
under Bertrand de Billy.

Edita received a triumphant ovation (she always gets those...remember this?)

...while stage director Christof Loy received the boos of the audience.

...and what Christian Van Horn (singing Astolfo) writes about last night at his blog

"Lucrezia opened last night and felt like a good success. I have never experienced such a vocal audience in my life. The bows felt like a football game as the soloists came out. Edita Gruberova has the most loyal audience that lose their minds when she takes a bow. It was hard not to enjoy the energy! We where broadcast live on the radio last night and were streaming audio online
