She sang Vissi d'arte in a very mediocre way and the stage director was not at his best telling her sing this aria on her knees or seated.
We are looking forward to better Toscas!
still can;t get my head around why they are making such a fuss about this.. and i thought Carsen's Tosca was kinda tame... Audiences back there need to come and greet the 21st century... What i thought was very very traditional was the singing, all the singing; ok , but exceedingly traditional as was the sound from the pit..but then again i have had Pappano make me fall in love with this opera i never really could stand :-)
