Tic-tac, tic-tac, we only got 4 days to save Poppea.

Dear parsi, the mission (impossible) would be to SAVE poor OCTAVIA, not Poppaea!
But of course, we opera lovers adore history to be brutally raped in order to enjoy the musical off-springs of the librettists' crimes!

And then, a "Poppea" in Octavia's temple in Corinth! A temple (1st Century AD) built to honour Octavia's (Nero's wife) great-grand-mother Octavia the Elder, sister of Augustus and spouse of Marc Anthony. The perfect setting for Monteverdi's score.

Well, you might not be there with us but Parsi will bring you many many photos and a recording (if the cicadas shut their mouth-as the last time i watch a performance there they didnt stop squeeking)
