What credit crunch???

I was reading an interview that Giovanni Pacor, the Artistic Director of the Greek National Opera, gave to the italian L'Opera a couple of months ago...

-"I biglietti? I costi e i pacchetti?"

No need for translation I guess, huh?
(But the maximum cost is definitely not "intorno ai 48 euro")

[Tickets for Aida at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus went on sale today. Upper tier tickets, non-numerati, 48 €, while a decent ticket at the lower tier will cost you at least 85 €. Not bad, considering that with that money you can watch stars like Dolora Zajick, Marco Berti, Dimitra Theodossiou -not Dimitris Tiliakos though- etc]

Most of the Greek people earn about 1,000euro as a salary. Therefore, talking about ordinary people of average income the cost of the tickets is too high. Long live the rich, Mr Loukos!

Mr. Loukos has nothing to do with it... It's the people of the Greek National Opera who have...tripled prices within 3-4 years...

Do you know an operetta by J. Strauss II called Der Zigeunerbaron? The Gipsy Baron in english...

I bought my ticket today, unfortunately I had to buy the 48euro tickets of the upper tier. A good ticket would cost me the double. And I dont plan spending 1/10 of a salary for a sole performance

The upper tier tickets are great. The Odeon is not as big as, let's say L' ArenaDiVerona, and if you get there (a lot) earlier and stand in queue you can be seated right in the center of the Odeon, just a couple of metres behind of those who have paid lot's of €€€. But unfortunately, the voices sound a lot weaker up there. I m sure that Zajick and Theodossiou will have no problem though ♥♥♥
