It's just a little bit of History repeating!

La Ceci dressed like a....hmmm...eeeeh.....aaaah.....don't know.

You receive an e-mail by the Barbican that reads "Book now for Autumn classical concerts", you go to your favourite section of the Barbican program (Great Performers) and alas! once again you find out that the Cecilia Bartoli Recital (17th of December, almost same date as last year's recital) is of course SOLD OUT.

And then you it's all coming back to you.

Wish I could return for this year's concert.

Also note, that the Bartoli Recital is the only sold-out recital together with the 2 Ian Bostridge-Mitsuko Uchida concerts (and we're talking about names like Kozena, Hvorostovsky, DiDonato, Heppner, Quasthoff, Voigt etc.). I know why. I experienced it last year. And I would definitely fly to London for 24hours just to watch La Ceci live once again (even if she's wearing hideous gowns like the one above).

She is appearing here on September 25th in the Malibran concert. Got my ticket in my hot little hand but I wouldn't be surprised if it there aren't still seats available. She doesn't seem to be that big a favorite here - and strangly I believe the Mariella Devia concert on the 15th still has seats available. What the hell is the matter with audiences in Rome?

They 're 2 kewl 4 opera! They 'd rather listen to Tiziano Ferro.

The Malibran Concert??? mmmmm....I wouldn't mind watching that again (even if I have watched the DVD about a thousand times. Which has nothing to do with the real thing as u can imagine).

Ceci will arrive to Barcelona next April...

BTW, the dress is so barcelonian... it's definitively a trencadís dress...

Anton Gaudi was the first thing I thought when I saw the dress!!!

Actually reminded me a bit of a Valentino number that was in the big exhibition here last year. Except his had blue and yellow panes in it. Nothing against Ceci but she really does need a "friend" to give her some advise.

Definitely! A stylist and a hair dresser for sure. But c'mon! this girl is bigger than life and she needs nothing more than her voice, her smile and her warm soul! And now I m gonna listen to my bootleg recording of last years recital for the 3245667th time. And I will worship in front of her giant poster in my living room. And say a buddhist prayer for her.

Mmmm...I ll probably need 10 days instead of 10minutes to find it in my chaos...

It's from a concert performance of La Cenerentola at the Salle Pleyel de Paris, March 2008.

That dress is from the Cenerentola production of Opernhaus Zurich. This production has been around for ages.
